pc boardThe average PCB project requires about 10 purchase orders to be placed with 10 vendors. This also means that you would have to deal with 10 packing slips and 10 invoices. Let MicroTech Manufacturing be your turnkey solution.

Because we've established and continue to maintain strong relationships with key component distributors, you are assured of maximum value for your purchasing dollar.

What this all means to you is that you are now free to concentrate on your core competencies like research & development and sales & marketing and distribution.

Whether we procure your components (fully or partially), or you provide a consigned kit, your components are in the capable (and static-free!) hands of our Material Management team.

Kitting

In most cases, your consigned kit will undergo a thorough audit upon reaching our dock. We compare the BOM to the components and verify part numbers, and quantities. An audit report is usually generated within 24 hours of receiving your kit.

There may be times when your kit may not undergo a full audit. These include:

  • Quick Turn Assemblies (24 & 48 hour turns)
    • In these instances, we attempt to verify devices as they are populated and report to you as issues come up

Consigned Kit Considerations

Attrition: Have you accounted for attrition? No assembly process is perfect so we recommend that you provide the following overages:

  • Passive Devices: 2-3%
  • Active Devices: 1%
  • High Cost Devices: 1 extra or 1%

Special Handling Requirements: You will need to provide special handling instructions if your kit includes devices that require special solder reflow profiles, cannot be washed in an aqueous cleaner or other special handling requirements.

Shortages: Shortages typically account for almost all delivery delays.
